Sleep is like the foundation to your temple. Without adequate deep, restful sleep our bodies will not run optimally and be in a constant state of ‘fight or flight’.
Poor Sleep Will:
– Stall Weight Loss
– Elevate Stress Hormone (Cortisol)
– Crate an Array of Other Hormonal Imbalances
– Slow Down Recovery
– Slow Down Digestion
– Increase Inflammation
And so much more!
If you have already purchased our 4 Week Programs or are considering it. We do recommend completing the 4 Week Sleep Deep Program before progressing to the 4 Week Slimmer Waist Program, which is Insulin focused.
Every night, regardless of whether you sleep or not, your blood sugar levels increase as a part of the natural human Circadian Rhythm cycle.
Sleep plays an important role in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. By improving sleep first, you will better be able to manage the release of Insulin. Lack of sleep (less than 6 hours per night) hinders how your body responds to Insulin and increases blood sugar levels. It can also make you hungrier the following day, increase cravings and make you more Insulin Resistant.
Chronically high Cortisol levels (increased by sleep deprivation) increases Glucose in the bloodstream which can lead to Insulin Resistance. Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) can be caused by elevated Cortisol and insufficient Insulin to counter the effects of Cortisol.
Over the past couple decades, the amount of sleep we get has decreased, while the number of people with obesity has increased.
So – As you can see. Deep, restful sleep is key to maintaining healthy Cortisol and Insulin Levels. Two hormones that must be balanced (or lowered) if you’re looking to lean out and lose body fat.
