Patio season will soon be here and with the warmer weather, this often bring more eating out.
BUT DON’T WORRY!
With a few minor tweaks and awareness of what you are eating, you can eat out without feeling guilty and still leaving feeling great.
Here’s 3 tips we recommend to clients when eating out:
- Opt for gluten free options when possible. Ask for no cheese (or sub for goat cheese if they have it). Avoid deep fried foods.
- Aim to have protein and veggies with each meal + opt for added healthy fats (nuts/seeds, avocado or olive oil dressing) OR a clean carb (rice or baked potato). Almost everywhere you can get a salad with protein (just modify the dressing if needed). Steak, veggies/salad & rice bowl. Or pan fried fish with a steamed veg and baked potato. It’s not that hard to eat out if you’re aware of and no how to build a balanced meal.
- Stick to water with lemon over sugary sodas, juices, or mixed cocktails.
The summer is a fun time and you should be enjoying yourself! All while still achieving and working towards your health goals.
