Your child’s brain attaches meaning to things through experiences. This is often made from interactions with loved ones and people they feel safe around. Children often imitate their parents behaviours and habits, whether good or ‘bad’.
Have you ever stopped to think about how your children are mini versions of you?
3 habits YOU do that can easily translate into your kids habits:
- The time you sleep and your night time routine – Are you someone that watches tv or scrolls on your phone late into the evenings? If so, do your kids do this too? If you were to have a wind down hour before bed with no electronics, meditation, fconnection time, ect. your kids would follow suit with these same habits.
- Taking supplements – Like Fish Oil, Vitamin D3, and Magnesium are all good for kids too in smaller doses and can support their learning and development.
- Your food habits – Do you prioritize whole foods and home cooked meals? Or do you grab food on the go the majority of the time? Your children will pickup on these habits and eat the same way. Start incorporating your children with dinner prep or washing the fruit / veggies each week. Get them involved so they connect to and enjoy it more.
Do you currently do any of the above with your children?
Children aren’t likely to change their habits or behaviours on their own. So it’s up to you to make it easier for them to make healthy choices. Lead the way!
If your children don’t adapt right away, stay positive, be patient, and keep trying over time.
